Blog Update - Greetings & Salutations

Now, some of you may or may not know who I am.
Mostly the latter, I'd bet.
Well, my name is Marc Anthony Rodriguez.
I am a native New Yorker who lives and breathes interactive entertainment.
For over fifteen years, I've worked side by side with some of the most brilliant and visionary people in the world to bring you the content you love. I took part in the creation, development and marketing of several multi-billion dollar entrainment properties; from video games like Grand Theft Auto, Red Ded Redemption, Street Fighter, and Resident Evil, to streaming services like MLB.TV, HBONOW, WWE Network.
I am a son, brother, husband, mentor, TEDx presenter, writer, cohort, educator, friend, adventurer and now, my most important role of all...
Over the past few months though, absent the security blanket that corporate office environments offer, I have been enjoying a bit of a spiritual renaissance.
Because despite all of that, I think I’ve always lived to work in the future of game design and development, helping independent development teams in their effort to wade the treacherous waters of the great wide digital market-space. Giving counsel to anyone willing to listen to the crazy, old, Game Studio guy.
Side note: It's pretty wild to think that being 37 makes me the old man in the digital gaming space, but here I am, proud and ready for our next adventure.
That next adventure?
I became Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer of VoxPop Games!
A new and exciting peer-to-peer game distribution & development platform, with a profit-sharing business model.
The kid from Williamsburg, Brooklyn is working on an Indie Games Platform.
I mean it's not that surprising.
The majority of my life has been filled with deep and life-changing experiences driven directly through Independent Games.
And let's all be real, all of the advancement in game design systems in mainstream titles are mimicked directly from indie titles. The lifeblood of many AAA titles is smaller studio ideas given an injection of manpower and advertising.
This often means the originals get lost in the shuffle. After all, the world of the digital marketplace is extremely fickle and every piece of content is vying for the time and attention of everyone at all times, everywhere around the world.
Understanding this is vital.
VoxPop Games is trying to accomplish something very important, which is what sold me on the company from its inception.
We will give the voice of the Independent Developer back to them, in the most important and fully realized way possible: providing them with their own tools to fully own the direction, messaging and distribution of their IP's voice, letting their artistry, and time investment, truly pay off.
We offer gamers and Streamers new avenues of improving their messaging, propping up these living pieces of art to more eyes and ears than ever before.
I can't wait to present all of the exciting and pulse pounding pieces of digital entertainment that VoxPop Games has to offer.
So be sure to follow, all of our social channels for all of most up to date news in regards to the platform.
Until next time,
It's been real.
